What’s at market this week

All the winter crops survived the big freeze this weekend with the protection of the hoophouse, plus some extra warmth from row covers, which are like light blankets made for plants.

Our first winter On Farm Market is this Wednesday! We’ll also have 2 more winter markets on the following  dates (mark your calendar): Wednesday, January 25th and Wednesday, February 8th. Open here at the farm from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on these dates. 

This week at market, we’ll have:

Veggies: Broccoli, Spinach, Kale, Collards, Lettuce, Rainbow Chard, Watermelon Radish, Cabbage, Kohlrabi, Sunchokes, Carrots- lots of carrots!, Sweet Asian Turnips, ‘Scarlet Queen’ brilliant red Turnips, Purple Top Turnips, Green Onions, and Baby Fennel

Pork: Ground Sausage (mild and medium), Link Sausage (hot), Italian Sausage, Chops, Butts, Ribs, Smoked Hocks, and Lard for your wintertime biscuit making needs 🙂

Herbal Tinctures-  All herbs grown here and extracted with organic cane alcohol:

Holy Basil, aka Tulsi (adaptogentic) Turmeric (anti-inflammatory and immune boosting), Elderberry (anti-viral= good for the current cold and flu season that is upon us!)

Lots of broccoli side shoots…..once the main crown is harvested, the plant puts on many of these smaller shoots that are like tiny broccoli heads.
