Twice a week the crew stays stooped over plucking strawberries for most of the day. Not the easiest crop to harvest but certainly one of the tastiest. Plenty at both markets this week!

What’s Available at Market This Week (Wednesday AND Saturday!)

Its been a slow start to the spring for us for a few reasons – we can go into details of the delays another time- but we will have the very first spring crops available this week with greens like lettuce and kale starting to come in the next few weeks.

We’ve got a gorgeous strawberry crop so far- lots of berries for sale at our on farm markets this Wednesday and Saturday mornings, but we’re not so sure about the harvest in weeks to come because a hail storm bruised 1000s of green berries and blooms last week. We’re hopeful they will ripen up fine with just some superficial scarring.

Tulsi has been enjoying plenty of sweet strawberries so far this spring!

Take Good Care,

The 2019 Crew at lunch on a chilly day last week. We are thrilled to have part time workers Jenn and Wendi come back this season. Zane and Shana are the new full time apprentices, both are from suburbs north of Atlanta. These four have helped get 1000s of spring transplants in the ground, such as onions, chard and broccoli.

Hope to see y’all here soon!

Presidents Day Market, Monday Feb. 18th.

We’ll be open MONDAY morning, 02/18/19 from 9-12 with lots of fresh veggies and other local foods to help you refill your pantries.  The forecast is warm and cloudy so it should be a great day for buying groceries outside! Hope to see you here!

This will be our last winter market. We will resume our weekly Wednesday morning market schedule in April (Starting April 3rd, open every Wednesday morning April- mid December).

CSA memberships are open to new members!

We’ve let our previous members secure their share, and now we are opening up membership to new members. The CSA is a great way to hold yourself accountable to having fresh produce in your house each week.  If you are out of town a good bit or would just rather pick out what you want rather than receive a share that we put together, shopping at our On Farm Market is a good option.

This year in addition to being open on Wednesday mornings, we’ll also be open the first Saturday morning of each month April- December! We’ve decided to open here one Saturday each month instead of attending the weekly downtown Columbus Market. Sales there have been inconsistent for us in recent years.  We’re sorry to disappoint our long time customers in Columbus! We hope you can make it up to Pine Mountain on the first Saturday of each month, or Wednesday mornings, for our produce plus the many other locally produced foods we stock.

If you’d like to join the CSA, all the information can be found here: Brochure for Spring +Summer 2019

Simply fill out the member agreement that’s found in the brochure and mail that along with your payment to us, or bring to the market tomorrow! If you’d like to pay by bank transfer online, we can send you a quickbooks invoice. Email us at jennyjackfarm@gmail.com if you’d like that option.
