Parasitic Wasp



We have had a large infestation of Mexican Bean Beetle on this year’s ‘Rattlesnake’ green bean crop. We decided to try to parasitic wasp that preys on the beetle’s larvae. So far, they seem to be doing their job well. We’ve seen plenty of brown parasitized beetle larvae since the release. We ordered them from Biocontrol Network-
And that’s preying- not praying!

  1. That was an interesting idea that you had to use the wasp. Ellen and I may have to try that if we get hit again by the beetles. They hit us 2 years ago and we just got exasperaded and pulled upt he beans altogether! Thanks for all the info we get from reading ALL of your news letters. Keep up the great work!
